Jane and John Scudder opened up Rex Christmas Tree Farm in 1986.  They originally started growing trees for their family and friends.  As their kids were growing up, a trip to a tree farm was a cherished family affair and they wanted to offer that same experience to the communities in and around Rex. And for more that 30 years now, they have been doing just that.

A typical trip to the tree farm includes stopping at the Tree Cabin for apple cider, cookies and a candy cane, before grabbing a saw and a measuring stick.  Then, onto the hunt to find that perfect Christmas Tree! Some families have been cutting down their Christmas Trees at Rex Christmas Tree Farm since it opened and have a favorite path to take through the trees.  Everyone has a camera in hand to make sure they capture each and every moment.  Once the perfect tree has been found, it is time to cut it down…Timber! And bring it back to the cabin for a good shake to get it clean and a wrap to make it easy to load and get in the house.  Finally, the decorations can begin and that perfect tree can be transformed into your families’ beautiful Christmas tree.  For many, a trip to Rex Christmas Tree Farm means the beginning of the Christmas Season!
